Forgot to tell you that you are fantastic and very handsome/pretty/beautiful today. There is a tiny possibility that the “free webinar” will be one hour of “free” sale’s pitch, but who cares, you are getting a “free webinar” just in exchange for your email… did I mention that I will send you 12 million emails per second so you can buy the offer from the “free webinar”?

OK, I’m putting my judgemental hat away…

Some people offer real value in the form of a webinar out there. They are respected by many, and whenever they offer something, everyone knows that they provide a lot of value and if they sell something in the way, it is still okay. But even if you don’t buy anything, you still get a lot of free value. These people have gained trust and respect because of the value that they offer; they do not offer value because people respected them first. This is a huge difference.

But in the age of the internet, everything that works is being abused in the highest grade until it doesn’t work anymore

It was cool when I use to get an email from someone I trusted and respected saying that they are holding a free webinar. I couldn’t wait until the time it would be live. But now “free webinars” are being standardized as a procedure which goes like this:

• You get an email, or you click on some ad saying that it will be a free webinar about some topic you are interested. (Yeah! awesome, a free webinar)
• You subscribe to some email list to be “reminded” about the webinar
• You receive one thousand email reminders for the webinar
• You watch the webinar and usually its some basic stuff of what you already know and a ton of sale’s talk for you to buys some offer which is available… you guessed it, only for the webinar followers!

And if you don’t attend the webinar, you have a second “chance” in which the webinar will be live only for a few days for you to watch the replay and of course not missing any “opportunity” to buy…

Enough is enough

Webinars may have been cool back in the days when Eben Pagan use to do it, but now there is a “free webinar” in every corner. Every-time I receive an email sending me a link to a webinar I click… the unsubscribe button. I know, I may be missing some cool stuff, but if what I am missing is important to me, I will find a way to get through training, and courses and all the other options available on and offline.

But I will win back the hours of my life that I may lose on these “sale pitch” webinars and of course, I will not put myself in the position to think of spending another 100 bucks…

This is one of the reasons I send very few emails to the subscribers of the Minimal Lifestyle mailing list. I want to share with you only what I consider will bring value to your life. And if you think what I am sharing isn’t bringing you value, I’m always open to constructive judgment, waiting for your emails and comments and replying each and every one personally.
