About Minimal Lifestyle
Hey there, I am Tani! Welcome to Minimal Lifestyle, my little corner of the internet that kicked off way back in 2015.
Well, if I’m being totally honest, it actually started in 2014, but let’s just say it had a rough start with a name like Tranquillius.com (yikes), what was I thinking? So, in 2015, I hit the reset button and gave it a name that didn’t sound like a rejected spell from a fantasy novel.
Back in those early days, this blog was my personal playground. I was all about sharing the minimal lifestyle lifehacks I’d stumbled across over the years—little tricks to cut the clutter, simplify life, and find joy in the basics. I even wrote a couple of books on the topic, and to my absolute shock, people didn’t hate them! Readers actually liked them, which was a pretty cool surprise for a guy who’s still figuring out English as a non-native speaker.
But here’s the thing, life doesn’t just sit still, does it? Since 2015, I’ve been on one heck of a ride. I’ve grown (and so has my bald spot; thanks a lot, genetics!), watched my hair go from “hey, nice!” to “where’d it go?” with the survivors turning white. I’ve met incredible people, said goodbye to others, watched relationships shift, started a business, and, my proudest moment of all, became a dad.
Oh, and let’s not skip over the COVID quarantine era. That was a wild test of minimalism if there ever was one, but it proved just how handy those principles can be when the world flips upside down.
So, why am I spilling all this in the “About” section?
Because I want you to know that I’ve evolved, and this blog is evolving with me. With everything life’s thrown my way, I had two options: let this blog collect digital cobwebs or reinvent it to match where I’m at now. Guess which one I picked? Yep, Minimal Lifestyle is getting a makeover. The minimalist vibe is still at its core, don’t worry, I’m not ditching that, but now I’m steering it toward something new: sharing real, practical advice for parents like me, especially those of us in the 35-45 club who are wrestling with the chaos of family life and financial juggling in 2025 and beyond.
You might poke around and notice the older posts don’t quite vibe with this new direction, and that’s cool. They’re like a snapshot of who I was back then, a time capsule of my minimalist adventures. I’m not here to erase my past; I’m just building on it.
Today, I’m all about digging into the messy, beautiful reality of parenthood and finding solutions that work. I’ve learned that minimalism isn’t just about owning less stuff, it’s about focusing on what matters when life gets loud. And trust me, between diaper explosions and bank statements, it gets loud.
So, I’ll be dishing out the tips, tricks, and “oh, that’s how you do it!” moments that have kept me sane. If my mom thinks I’m extremely smart for figuring this stuff out, maybe you will too, but really, it’s about sharing what works and hoping it lightens your load a bit.
What’s next? Who knows! Maybe tomorrow I’ll reinvent this blog into something totally different. But for now, I’m pumped to dive into this new chapter with you. The future’s looking bright, and I’m glad you’re here for the ride.
